Fortunoff Releases Beta Version of Aviary

By Stephen Naron - May 10, 2019

In April 2019, the Fortunoff Archive released the beta version of our new access system, Aviary. The system simplifies registration, search and navigation dramatically. Users can now search across thousands of summarized notes (indexes) and hundreds of testimony transcripts to easily locate content within thousands of hours of testimony. Moreover, since you request access to the collection once and not one testimony at a time, you can switch between the search and viewing process more fluidly at access sites. No more requesting access in advance!

The current access system will remain in operation for several months, but we are eager to see Aviary replace it entirely by the end of the summer. We value any feedback, critiques, or suggestions for Aviary’s improvement. We especially invite you to take this survey. Staff and researchers are both welcome to take it, as many times as they use the system.
