Fortunoff Archive Receives Bequest from Helene Fortunoff

By Christy Bailey-Tomecek - July 15, 2022

The Fortunoff Archive has received a bequest from the estate of Helene Fortunoff (1933-2021). Helene Fortunoff was the president of Fortunoff Fine Jewelry & Silverware Inc. and a philanthropist alongside her husband, Alan Fortunoff. It was their generosity that led to the endowment of the Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies in 1987. This gift permanently established the archive at Yale and added the Fortunoff name to its title. We are grateful for the further support that Helene Fortunoff's estate has provided us, which will allow the Archive to continue our work in preserving and providing access to our testimonies.
