Art, Human Rights, and Memory Activism: Poetry, Music, and Testimony from the Fortunoff Archive
Fortunoff Video Archive Artist-in-Residence Grzegorz Kwiatkowski will present his interdisciplinary “memory art project” at Harvard Law School, bringing together poetry, music, testimony, and human rights advocacy.
He will read from his collection of Fortunoff Poems, a poetry project based on Holocaust survivor testimonies from the Fortunoff Video Archive, translated into English by Peter Constantine. He will also reflect on how art can engage memory, resist dehumanization, and sustain democratic pluralism without turning suffering into spectacle.
Professor Martha Minow, the 300th Anniversary University Professor at Harvard Law School, will introduce the event, with Abadir M. Ibrahim serving as moderator.
