By Christy Bailey-Tomecek - January 6, 2021

On Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 7:00 PM EST, Stephen Naron, Director of the Fortunoff Archive, and Eric Marcus, co-producer of the archive's podcast Those Who Were There: Voices from the Holocaust, will join Mary Hendra, Program Director for Los Angeles and Organizational Innovation at Facing History and Ourselves, in a webinar for classroom educators. Titled Those Who Were There: Using Podcasts and Survivor Testimony in Your Classroom, Naron, Marcus, and Hendra will discuss how recorded testimonies of Holocaust survivors and witnesses can inform educators' and students' understandings of this history, and how they can educate us about the responsibilities to share and preserve memory today.

Facing History and Ourselves uses lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. Facing History’s resources address racism, antisemitism, and prejudice at pivotal moments in history; they help students connect choices made in the past to those they will confront in their own lives. Through their partnership with educators around the world, Facing History and Ourselves reaches millions of students in thousands of classrooms every year.
