Season Two of Those Who Were There Launches

By Christy Bailey-Tomecek - September 11, 2020

On September 10, 2020, the Fortunoff Archive launched the second season of the podcast Those Who Were There: Voices from the Holocaust. Those Who Were There is the only podcast dedicated to sharing Holocaust history through the first-hand testimonies of survivors and witnesses. This new season is produced in affiliation with the Museum of Jewish Heritage- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. The Museum of Jewish Heritage was an affiliate project of the Fortunoff Archive, having recorded nearly 600 testimonies with the archive.

The launch was marked by a virtual event presented by the Museum of Jewish Heritage. At the event, the archive's director, Stephen Naron, who is a co-producer of the podcast, gave a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the podcast. Speaking with him were co-producers Eric Marcus and Nahanni Rous; Museum of Jewish Heritage’s collections project manager and co-producer Treva Walsh; and host Eleanor Reissa.

The event was recorded and is publicly available on YouTube here. To listen to the first two new episodes, visit the podcast page on our website.
